One of Ireland's major cement producing facilities at Platin near Drogheda employed Slipform in the construction of the silos in both phases of the development of the works. The inherent strength of the system allowed accurate and rapid installation of the prestressing ducts and tendons as the slide progressed with anchorages positioned in pilasters. The steel panels forming the shutter face enabled an extremely fine and uniform finish to be achieved. A further two silos were recently completed under a separate order with PJ Walls.
