12 no. 20m diameter and 56m high silos slipformed consecutively using 2 sets of equipment. Assembly and slipforming periods were overlapped so as to minimise the overall construction programme and provide continuity for the labour supply. A water curing system was incorporated into the slipform rig design to protect the concrete from the high ambient temperatures encountered in the Gulf region.
